Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet community located in the West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" area. A lot of people who aren't aware of they mistakenly believe they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually it is the West Island includes everything westward of the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay there was short. Brugel became an aspiring young lady in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. She had a dream to dance but an increase in her height resulted in her outgrowing her dance partners. She admitted in an article that was published in the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. When I grew out of my male partners, I quit. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who turned into acting. The teacher she had at high school was what pushed her to take the next step. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the school's annual production. She tried out and ended up playing the role of the main character of Anne of Green Gables. She was given an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program and graduated at the age of 20 with a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. The career of Brugel spans more than 20 years and she's performed in more than 60 shows, both on big screens and smaller ones. The most well-known role she played was that of Rita (pictured in the below photo) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast during the season 1 of the series and only seen occasionally.
